outhouse - musings
An outhouse is a simple and practical furnishings - mostly.
helps Even in summer, when mosquitoes are of various kinds in search of unprotected skin is a mosquito incense on the bench next to me to keep the danger at bay.
But this morning, at minus 20 degrees and windy it felt in the small building to be windy, as in the nearby aviary. Beautiful large ice crystals cover the walls and the toilet paper, and for a moment I wondered, to insert a Klohaus-free day. Then I reflected that I could indeed write about the experience, and I decided to draw my plans through.
The moral of this story is: enjoy and appreciate the luxury of you is available, even and especially if you do not it always feel is luxurious.

snow impressions
excuse: It's not easy to shoot good pictures when the lack of daylight to come, that does little to light that the sun this time of year we have sent down a cloudy sky, the Seine, our world in the twilight to hold. That said, I would like to share some impressions of the most impressive for me to date snowfall here in Green Creek with you: Yesterday morning we woke up and found 22 centimeters of fresh snow. Everything, even the thinnest branches were covered with the finest, lightest snow. All morning we walked like dreaming on a cloud (actually, the snow was so soft and light, he offered little resistance, although we waded up to their knees in it) and having a plug-happy smile about on the lips.
berry bush branches with a thick layer of snow (9 clock)
During the day, facilitated some of the fir trees around the Home of her heavy load and snow clouds trickled down. It looked like small explosions on snow-laden branches, followed by a deep sigh of the tree.
the garden in the old hut (13:45 clock)
river - quite a bit of ice, very low water level (13:45 clock)

river ... Ice
with great interest that we pursue every day for new episodes from the lives of wild animals around us. Whenever we settle down to eat at your table, life goes for our wild neighbors continue as normal Wiesel slide spring through the bushes, grouse eat berries along the way, jays store their food in forks of branches or seek it out of it, birch storm Redpolls, Pine Grosbeak (relatives of the grosbeak) depend heavily on Preiselbeersträuchern to get to the berries and squirrels company (closely monitored by Lance) their daily hamster passages. Even a black bear in the summer we could see from the living room, as they taught their boys to harvest rose hips. All the plays in front of the magnificent scenery snow-capped mountain peaks and a river that carries every day more and more ice.
supply storage (possibly from height) in an abandoned bird's nest ( may nger of Kronwald ä )
Bärspur in the fresh snow
But that is by no means Everything! In the freshly fallen snow read, we can see what the neighbors that we do not get to face all have made: see Yesterday was Elias, the tracks of a grizzly bear that was looking for a suitable cave for the winter, especially under low-hanging green branches we hare tracks, fox tracks and betrayed the night Presence of this shy forest dweller on our way.
got a few days ago the full moon rising behind the mountains, producing a broad light stripes above the water. We realized that we are through our large living room window to witness an ever-present in changing landscape - a landscape that is inhabited by the most wonderful creatures.
Technical Information: The boat is on land and Elias turned our porch ready!
